My thanks to you all for attending this year’s Annual General Meeting.

England to win the World Cup, Tottenham to win the Premiership and Oxted & District Football Club to win the Surrey Elite League, what odds would you get on such a treble.

The 2009/2010 season has proved to be a hard fought campaign in order to maintain our position in the Surrey Elite League, off  the field my committee have worked hard in order to maintain an acceptable standard of football at a competitive cost compared to other club’s in the area.

Chris Mankelow has generated an income stream via player sponsorship and pitch side advertising via Michael Wilford and Warren Fairchild, we also still have team sponsorship which is in place for next season, we are very grateful to Turnstyles’ and Buxton Homes for their continued support.

We are in the process or trying to re establish better links with Oxted & District Junior Football Club, their new Chair Rowena Clements has met with us and we have explained that at no time have we stated that the junior club could not use the facilities at Master park, we will be informing Rowena when pre season training will start and she will be encouraging the more senior of the junior teams to attend, we hope that this will be the start of a renewed association and we will in time see the rewards with junior members stepping out for the senior teams.

We are also in continued talks with Raw Links FC discussing ways to form an association with them at the same time.

Oli Beck your Club Captain has been busy preparing the necessary papers to apply for FA Chartered Standard, as part of the application a number of members attended a First aid training course earlier in the year.

As most of you will know Warren Fairchild took over as the Club’s Treasurer at last year’s Annual General Meeting, I sorry to say that Warren has decided for family and business reasons to stand down, so we are looking for somebody to take over. Warren has also through contacts arranged for a range of sportswear to be made available to club members via the internet, access is available via the club web site.

A new agreement between Master Park Management Committee and the Football Club has at long last been agreed and signed.

The reason why there was a proposal for a change of rules, was down to the size of the committee, too much time was spent at meetings discussing non payment of subscriptions, match fees and fines as well as player discipline. Most of these are matters that can be dealt with via a subcommittee that can be set up by the Treasurer or another committee member asked to deal with it, non committee members will be co-opted to assist.

Volunteers are needed to assist us all, we don’t ask a great deal of you, we prepare the pitch and supply the kit, all you need to do is turn up to play, all we ask is a little help to make our job easier, please pay your annual subscription immediately, pay you match fee and fine when it is due and support the Club when we have social functions.

The Club’s thanks go to Denise King who continues to launder the kit’s, I’m pleased to say that I have not heard that she has a collection of men’s underwear this year so you must be doing something right. My thanks to all the managers and their assistants, my committee , the Treasurer for all he has done to simplify the accounting process and finally Peter King your Secretary without who we would not be able to step out onto the pitch.
